Flowers in watercolor

Dear friends, as part of 21 secrets workshops did one on watercolor and did these watercolor flowers in response. fun to do. I love playing with watercolor lots of love from susanJOY

Intuitive layers

Dear friends, this piece of art was done as part of workshop 21 secrets. it was lots of layers which isn't my usual artwork. i usually do simple. I found this one challenging. Gessoed page and scribbled over with watercolor pencil. Paint in shapes that i see and look for images and paint in some more. DO reverse stenciling in the background. paint in grey paint in background. write inside shapes about the work. I used black and white pens. Gesso parts out that don't like which I did as so many layers. Tear up book pages and glue to page. I was supposed to sew pieces of art and add to work as well but stopped here and did sewn pieces as separate art work...which is the second picture. lots of love from susan JOY

Mandelas

Dear friends, some more art from a 21 secrets workshop on mandelas. did the white ones using water color and the black ones using acrylic paint and white marker pens. Really enjoyed doing these as not usually into mandelas lots of love from susanJOY

butterfly

Dear friends, drew butterfly on a grid to get symmetry and made shapes inside butterfly. painted in and then stenciled around in pink and then daubed surrounds with yellow paint love from susan JOY

Shapes

Dear friends, Cut out shapes in colored paper and drew around them in colored pencil. added shapes to page and colored in more shapes. used watercolor pencil and washed over pencil with water. lots of love from susan JOY

tissue paper

Dear friends, a friend sent me some ATCs wrapped in tissue paper and I made this art piece using them. I collaged and gessoed the page and added torn tissue paper. Scored the wet gesso with a metal tip. added photo of bridge to heaven. all done lots of love from susan JOY

Blue

Dear friends, painted page blue then added medieval picture and ones of embroidery and shoes and stenciled page with white butterfly and patterns. did this for the 21 secrets workshop lots of love from susan JOY

Bowl

Dear friends, bought a bowl made out of strips of magazines and did some art to celebrate using watercolor crayons. i also added photos. here is the result lots of love from susan JOY

Blotches

Dear friends, doodled with water color crayons and then washed over with water. I then added ink through a straw and blew on it to create the blotches. this was from the 21 secrets workshops lots of love from susan JOY

Book

Dear friends, I had fantastic fun making this book for the 21 secrets workshop. I made a spine using cloth tape in yellow and attached home made envelopes painted in yellow with pink stenciling on. I attached 5 envelopes using stitching and added pink beads on the spine of the book. i added the front covers I had made for another book cover. the butterfly on the front was from the florist and someone elses art work. I loved doing it all in yellow, pink and beige. I then painted some cards yellow and pink and put them in the envelopes. i wrote some personal things on the cards. I love the result lots of love from susan JOY

Doodling

Dear friends, as part of the 21 workshops with 21 secrets we had to draw a line all over the page and then fill the spaces with shapes and fill some in and hatch some. here is my result. fun to do. I went through a big stage in my life doing doodling. it was nice to revisit it lots of love from susan JOY

Buttons

Dear friends, this is another piece of art from my 21 secrets workshop using modeling paste. I applied the thick paste and printed over it with corregated cardboard making grooved patterns. I then smudged watercolor pencil over the paste and pressed in some colored buttons. a lot of fun lots of love from susan JOY

two art pages

Dear friends, the left page is tissue paper with stamps over the top. the right page is green moulding compound applied in a heart shape and patterned using a fork through it and adding sequins onto it. the heart is part of the 21 secrets workshop. lots of love from susan JOY

Art for a friend

Dear friends, This is the art work I did for a friend. the right is the art and the left is the envelope I sent it in. my friend and I exchange art every so often. I love what we do. I don't have many artistic friends and i love my online relationships and distant relationships. the art work is a watercolor wash with leaf stamps and writing around the edges lots of love from susan JOY
