Challenge 98 - free choice

I used to collect dolls. This is my doll Stavroula. It lives at my mothers. My mother lives in a gorgeous little white weather board house. It is like a little dolls house. My mum loves color coordinating everything. Her lounge dining area is all soft apricot and soft green with soft turqoise green highlights. It matches the outside green trims on the house and door. The doll matched the house so I sent it to mum's place!!!!!The doll didn't fit into my more chaotic colorful home. It is interesting how we all live so differently.
I still have some of my dolls out in the house. Others of them are stored in a blanket bin and I give them all a turn out in the fresh air!!!
I never intended collecting dolls. It started with my childhood doll Linda and my barbie doll. I didn't start collecting until I was an adult.
Enjoy the journey.
Lots of love from Susan in Australia

I'm a colour co-ordinator too, so I totally understand her living at your Mums house. LOL!
Nice sketch!

hey Susan! I like how you captured that fixed look, just like a doll. what media did you use to paint it. Hugs.

Lovely!

You said something about this being your last post to this blog in your email. Is everything OK?

She's a beautiful doll. I understand what you mean about not meaning to collect dolls. Also, I've had people offer to let some of my dolls live in their homes!

Are you tired of posting, drawing, or the EDM challenges in this blog? If you end this blog, I hope you keep up your other blog.

Hi Susan...what a lovely name your doll has. I used to collect dolls as a child and still have a couple of favorites and one of my husband's dolls(boy doll, of course).
What do you mean this will be your last blog? Will you be posting somewhere else I hope?

Oh dear, I told EDM group that this picture was the last one on my blog meaning the last entry for the next few days. Some very caring people thought I was abandoning my blog. I'm hoping to keep on blogging I love it. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Stavroula's name is my old doctor's receptionst's. She's Greek
Enjoy the journey

What a lovely drawing, Susan!! Well done! I still have a doll from when I was 18 months old but I never got into collecting them. Oh and I also understand the colour coordination thing too. :)

Oh, I love the tiny feet of your doll. Very, very nice drawing. I have a collection of dolls from different countries that I are packed away. My brother is 16yos older than me and when he was in the military, he would send me a doll from each country that he visited. I have nowhere to display them. I ahven't had them out of the packing in ages.

I also collect dolls, though less enthusiastically now than when my mother was alive. She bought me all sorts of nice dolls, though as a child I only displayed them, hardly played with them. In the last years of her life I had fun going through the childhood dolls of mine that she kept, and later on collecting all the original Barbie outfits. I wish I had that #1 Barbie I got for Christmas 1959! But now Mom is gone, and my enthusiasm has waned. I'll have to sketch a couple Barbies.
