Trolley challenge

I found this trolley in the street so I didn't have to draw it in the supermarket. It is a typical trolley used in Melbourne, Australia. It was a challenge to draw all the details. I didn't fit the wheels in on the page!!!
i use a trolley every week to get groceries and I have to put a dollar in a slot to get it and I get the dollar back when i return it. It gets people to return their trolleys rather than leaving them in the parking lot.
Lots of love from Susan in Australia

hahah wow, great job! I bet it's hard to do a shopping cart with all those lines. I still have to draw mine. :)

Great drawing. Your persective is very good. I like the dollar idea, I think they do something like that in Amsterdam. Here in the states I just walk it back to the front of the store...burning a total of one or two calories but it makes me feel better.

Wow, you did a wonderful job on this! I'll bet it was a challenge with all those lines. There are some stores that do that here in the states, but the majority do not. I always walk mine back to the front of the store or one of the little queues they have in the parking lot.

Wow Susan, this is a great job on a difficult challenge!! I like the owrd 'trolley' because I 've never heard it called that. I just call them a grocery cart and I wish stores would do that here--charge so people bring them back. They seem to end up all over the parking lot.

I like your trolley by golly. I want to go shopping right now and stock up on goodies (I keep a pack of cookies in my desk drawer at work).

This is a really good drawing. Did all those lines make your eyes cross? In Canada, we also have to put a dollar in the cart to release it from the line. We have dollar coins so that makes it easier. Nice job on this.

GREAT! You have so much patience to have done all of this. I think the idea of a dollar deposit for a cart is an interesting one -- never heard of that one before!

What a fantastic job! As others have said, lots of lines and your perspective is just wonderful! There are very few stores who charge for carts in the States and I wish more would! We live in an area that gets frequent high winds and those carts go FLYING like they are motorized!

Great Job! That cart has tons of personality. I love it.

Susan, I just read your mail on EDM and wanted to say you are doing great with your drawing! Have you got Betty Edward's Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. I can't recommend it highly enough because the only thing necessary to improve drawing is to improve 'seeing' and this book has some excellent exercises.

Excellent, Susan. This is a tough one - and besides being accurate, you've managed to give it personality.

This is great, I don't want to think about how long it took you to do this. You should be very proud of yourself, and keep it going.

Hi Susan!! how are you doing? I hope great!! More challenges to do are waiting ahead. Write to me whenever you feel like. You really had a lot of work with this trolley! But the result is great. Best wishes. Martín

We should start a fall-off-the-page club. I do the same thing! Your sketch is terrific and you've got all the detail just so ... really well done! Cheers! Mary Ellen
