Dear friends,
I am doing art celebrating Julia Cameron's famous book on creativity The artist way. Chapter 5 is the gift of possibility and these are the pages I did representing the river of life and being in the flow of it.

Letters

Dear friends,
These journal pages I did a page that opens out and I journaled inside. there is a tab to grab to open page. I used a serviette with butterflies on to decorate the pages. I did wooden letters that I used as headings for the journaling. I have been doing a course from Strathmore and this was the result of one of the workshops.

Brave girls soul restoration

Dear friends,
I did a course with "Brave girls" called soul restoration (just google it). These were the final pages of a fabulous course. this is about caring for myself and keeping myself well tuned like a guitar.

Blind painting

Dear friends,
On a creativity site some of us were challenged to do some art blind...with eyes closed or a blind fold. I decided to take on the challenge and did a face. I learnt so much like how the paint feels on the page, needing to wait lots of time for it to dry because you don't know when it is unless you feel it. You have to keep an idea in your mind of what you have painted. You need the paints ordered so you know what color is what by feel. Most interesting.

Dear friends,
Here is my latest altered book page. I gessoed the pages leaving some of the printed material. I added two images and then painted on some leaves on the images to alter them. I added some buttons on wool thread.

Latest artwork

Dear friends,
My latest art work printing with bottle tops, one using torn tissue paper and sketching, the hearts one with the bow is using netting for the hearts and a friends doodled heart, then one is printing with potatoes made into shapes and then one of hearts that came on cellophane from a florist on Valentines day.

Eyes

I did a cut out through some artist journal pages to some eyes and these pages resulted. i also got some new stamps from my visit to the National gallery of Victoria.

I've also just got a personal trainer and thinking about my body so the aboriginal painting meant a lot to me and became part of my journaling.

My first dotee doll well almost.........

Dear friends,
This is my first dotee doll. My mum helped me out with design as i was sitting with her when I was making her and my mum said she needed a tuille dress! I love her heaps and she is on my bedroom door.

I just found out mine isn't a dotee doll! It is supposed to be between 3 and 5 inches and mine is longer. Ah well I had fun.

Butterfly I drew as a child

Mastery of life on the wing

Dear friends,
I can't believe there is now a photo of me in my bathers on the net!!! I am very self conscious about my weight and have had problems with body image most of my life. This is my first art piece done on canvas and the first page to a canvas art journal. It is all about mastery of life on the wing....dragon flies.....and balance in the chaos of mental illness and feeling good about myself as who i am. i am enough just the way I am today. I am also down the beach at one of my favourite magical spots near a friends boat shed where i can sit and drink coffee and watch the ocean and go for a swim.
