Glass challenge

As I normally do outlines and watercolor inside when i came to the glass I realised I needed some shading. I don't know how to shade. Hopefully I will learn how to do it as part of the course I am doing with Drawing on the right side of the brain.
The glass is one of a collection of glasses that were full of honey. I love the way the glasses are recycled and enjoy using them. I need to get some nice new glasses for when visitors come as the honey glasses are getting a bit used.
I drink a lot of water during the day and love using my glasses.
Lots of love from Susan in Australia

Looks good! I have trouble using shading to show rounded surfaces. People often used curved lines to show that, but it bothers me because real-life shadows aren't curved lines. So a lot of times my sketches look flat. I like your glass sketch! :)

This is pretty cool! I really like your glass drawing. I don't think I could do as well as you did with the same subject. Don't give up, drawing glass is HARD. You've made a really good start.

This is a lovely drawing Susan. You are very hard on yourself (but then, aren't we all?)

Nice glass Susan. Finding yourself with these questions means you are improving. I remember being there and found a good lesson that Danny posted, but not sure how to find it again.

Keep up the good work.

I think you're doing wonderfully, Susan. I sketched my first glass piece for one of my EDM challenges recently and I had no idea how to get that shaded look to a clear receptacle either. Not sure if it will help but I just tried to focus on what appeared shaded on the real vase and also drew in the visible contents inside the vase and it kinda fell into place from there. :)

I thought I had commented on this one, but I guess I missed it somehow. This is really good. Glass is hard to do, but you've caught the reflections and translucence of it. Great job!
